What the term Indigenous Australian mean

'Indigenous Australian' refers to the Aboriginal peoples and Torres Strait Islanders of Australia. An Indigenous Australian is defined as a person who is a descendant of an Aboriginal or/and Torres Strait Islander community of Australia, identifies as an Aboriginal person or/and a Torres Strait Islander and is recognised as such by the community in which the person lives.
